OUR MISSION

The objectives of the Association are to foster and promote the professionalism, development and application of hospitality purchasing in all aspects including sourcing, buying, store management, inventory control, facilities management through the organisation of appropriate activities and services amongst its members includes:

  • The organising of seminars, conferences, discussions, educational tours, courses related to hospitality purchasing.
  • The publication of journals and other literature on hospitality purchasing and related materials
  • The maintenance and sharing of information relating to hospitality purchasing and other related subjects.
  • Co-operation and affiliation with local and international organisations whose interests and objects are similar or complementary to those of the Association.
  • Social interaction within the hospitality industry.

Hospitality purchasing relates to all people in the trade of hotels, airlines, country clubs, restaurants, hospitals, fast food chains, catering on-shore, catering off-shore and other related hospitality business in the service industry.

The main function of the hospitality purchaser is the procurement of goods and services to the organisation of his or her employment. Examples are engineering supplies, food and beverage supplies, housekeeping supplies, etc.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

The Hospitality Purchasing Association (Singapore) began as a simple networking platform. Today, I’m proud to see HPA grow into a vibrant community of procurement professionals across hospitality and complementary sectors from Food & Beverage and airlines to country clubs, restaurants, quickservice chains and supporting Singapore’s tourism ecosystem.

Expanding Our Reach

Our vision is to be the go-to association for all procurement professionals in the hospitality sector. To achieve this, HPA must be recognized as a valuable association that leading procurement professionals aspire to join and strengthening our visibility and influence in the industry. We will actively pursue new partnerships and forge collaborations with other associations and organizations. By working together, we aim to attract more talent into the hospitality procurement field, showcasing its critical role in driving the success of the industry.

Strengthening our Core

Members are at the heart of HPA. In today’s fastchanging world, we must continually grow to ensure upward mobility. HPA connects individuals and provide access best practices, industry insights and knowledge trends that are crucial for navigating the complexities of procurement. Our workshops, seminars, and networking events are designed to give Members invaluable opportunities to enhance skills, build strong business connections, and stay ahead of market trends.
